In my adolescence, I had a neighborhood friend who was really creative at making stop motion videos. He would let me help sometimes after school or on the weekends. He really inspired me. I took any chance I could to use the family camcorder to try and make my own stop motion videos. I was only able to make three terrible stop motion videos on my own during the mid 1990s.
The old VHS-C tapes I recorded on during the '90s resurfaced in 2015 and it reignited the old creative hobby. Slowly, I have been using items throughout my home to make new subtle and short stop motion videos. Nothing fancy or technical at this point, but I hope to progress with the hobby in the years to come. Most of these were created using my iPhone and Canon 60D DSLR using the iOS apps iStop Motion by Boinx Software and Stop Motion Studio by CATEATER, LLC.
In the early 2000s, I had an old fashioned Geocities website that had over 50+ stop motion animations in a GIF format. I captured most of these using a standard Intel web cam. I unfortunately lost the entire collection when Geocities was shut down and with that, I lost the desire to spend the time to create new stop motion videos.
